This is a day tour that drives you from your hotel to the Grass Root Project Eco Friendly village of Tungina, with just 100 residents. A true taste of the real Gambia.
The tour starts at 7.30 am, when we drive towards the south bank to the village of Tungina. We have a short stop to visit the Alkalo Queen Compound and experience the work taking place at the Community Preschool of Beetillo.
10 am: Arrive at our Community Eco Village Camp for Bush tea and coffee.
The Eco Camp is located among the mixed vegetation of an evergreen forest, mangrove vegetation and the East Community Women’s Garden.
Take a forest walk to Farasutu Forest, with its ever-green Ryne Forest River.
Expected species: Birds, reptiles, insects, butterflies, crocodiles …. and lots more.
Experience the history of the people who first settled here 600 years ago.
Lunch at 1pm at our African Tree local restaurant with all cold drinks.
4pm: We take a boat trip to the creek of Tungina for 1 hour for sunset and the Boabab Island.
After the boat trip we return to your hotel
